Honeymoon - Switzerland & Germany
Pre-Take Off
Day of leaving seattle, Eric and Emily LaMacchia went to find a quiet place in the woods to open everyones cards from the wedding. Sitting next to a stream in a park filled with green trees, the couple found a log to sit on and opened everyones cards and honeyfund gifts. This filled the newly weds with great excitement for the upcoming trip.Â
They ended up in the airport too early and had some beers pre-take off and gary strawn found them and met up for a few to hang out before the couple went off on their international adventure.Â
Switzerland - Interlaken
We had to do a long travel day once they landed. In total it was around 24 hours of travel with the plane ride over. 1 plane, 3 trains, and 1 bus later we got to interlaken. We found out that emily does not like traveling by trains while feeling sick to her stomach, meanwhile I was getting put to sleep from the rocking. Opposites, yet again but traveling wakes me up and makes me energetic. However, Emily rallied through and trusted me blindly to get to interlaken safely. Once in interlaken we passed out and woke up to an insanely beautiful view from our porch of the airbnb in interlaken. Below are some activities we did and pictures!

Switzerland - Sion (Pronounced Shoon)
Sion is in the Valais region of swizterland, within their wine region. Its a small town with barely any tourists but amazing small town with incredible wine and very nice people. We were supposed to go camping in a country sponsered campground, but when we got to the campsite we looked at it, took one look at each other and said no. It was very run down and just seemed a bit sketchy, so we got off the bus since it was at the end of its route. The bus driver got off and went on his little break and we booked a last minute hotel. The bus driver came back and looked at us inquisitively trying to see if we are okay. Unfortunately he didn't speak any english, so he found someone who spoke more than just french, but her other language was spanish and emilys and my spanish is a bit rough, so google translate it was! Then this really nice man from Zurich ended up getting on the bus and told the bus driver we got lost. Then the bus driver made it his mission and man do i mean mission to make sure we made it to our hotel.Â
Sion had the most amazing old french archituture and some of the best just culture we saw anywhere!

Germany - Frankfurt
Last part of the trip, so reality started to set in that we will be going back home but at this point we were soooo ready to get back home to our two dogs and cat. Eric fell in love with the german culture and the apfelwein in frankfurt. They had an AMAZING Subways system that was huge and made getting around the city extremely easy!
